Brother PH Donates School Supplies to the Students of Inigan Elementary School
In its efforts to making a positive contribution to local communities, Brother International Philippines Corporation regularly holds Corporate Social Responsibility activities. On May 28, 2016, Brother Philippines held a Brigada Eskwela program to prepare the students of Inigan Elementary School for the coming school year.
Located in a remote area, Inigan Elementary School does not have electricity, and the students have to cross a river every day to attend their classes. Since 2012, Brother Philippines has been providing assistance to the school by donating school supplies and equipment. Also, through its employee volunteering program, 50 Brother Employees were able to sponsor each of the school’s students. The half-day Brigada Eskwela event allowed the employees to provide their sponsored students a bag containing various school supplies, and facilitate a learning session for them as well.
In staying true to the Brother Group Global Charter that recognizes the role of corporations to become more significant in achieving a sustainable society, Brother Philippines adopts "Principles of Social Responsibility" to express fulfilment of its social and ethical duties. Brother Philippines believes in being a good corporate citizen, and in helping improve the Philippine education system. Moreover, through its activities for Inigan Elementary School, Brother hopes to improve the students' learning conditions and learning outcomes.
